We all want life that is fulfilling, life with purpose and satisfying achievement. But is there any reasonable expectation of having such a life? Yes! Jesus Christ, the Son of God, said that He came to give us life that is more abundant! If Jesus indeed is Who He says He is, then He can deliver on this offer. Any one of us can expect to have life more abundant than the present.

This book explores the topic of abundant life as revealed in the Bible. It begins by presenting a case for indisputable truth, truth that can be known and believed. Jesus said He is truth. God’s Word recorded in the Bible is truth, documenting life and events from history through to events yet to be seen on earth and in heaven. Examples are given for many predicted events that were fulfilled hundreds of years later.

The book identifies stages of spiritual development for a person who is a follower of Jesus Christ. A person first experiences salvation, spiritual birth into the family of God through Jesus Christ. This is followed by sanctification, being set apart from the world to live for God. Next comes edification, which is growth in knowledge of Scripture and obedience to God. This is followed by communication that develops rich relationships with others of God’s children to strengthen the whole body of Christ. And finally, inspiration gives the believer motivation and vision for taking bold actions in obedience to the Lord.

One chapter focuses on Jesus Christ, the central figure in Scripture. It summarizes the heritage, ministry, and predictions of Jesus. He fulfilled many predictions through His virgin birth, events surrounding His birth, His teaching and miracles during His ministry, His death and resurrection, and His ascension to heaven. Of note, Jesus declared events yet to occur, which are believable if He is truth. Jesus is described as Creator of all things, Savior of the world, and coming King to reign and judge the world.

The final chapter pulls together three elements of life more abundant. All are based on knowing and trusting God. The first is a foundation, the truth of God, upon which we live with confidence. The second is rich life of the way in God, enjoying the intimate relationship with Him. And the third is fruitfulness in life by God, seeing God’s Holy Spirit produce spiritual fruit. Life more abundant is built on truth, a loving relationship with God, and fruitfulness in life.

The book is written to give the reader an understanding of abundant life as well as aids for grasping truth and focusing life’s priorities to allow God to work in us. Key Scripture verses are suggested for memorization, and sample prayers bring attention to our dependence on God.
