Opting for government-assisted suicide before his dementia got too advanced and robbed him of the ability to terminate his own life, young Canadian lawyer Parker Grantham suddenly finds himself occupying the body of an American attorney named Bobby Bartlett who had also just committed suicide in his dumpy apartment to escape his horrid life and avoid being beaten up by his drug dealer for non-payment of his drug debt. Parker is free from both his own dementia and Bobby's drug addiction but has a ton of hurdles to jump over because of the putrid state of Bobby's life.
