But the real adventure this week? Our kid suddenly developed mysterious brown patches on her skin, smooth, painless, and deeply unsettling for two parents whose medical degrees contain zero pediatrics. Cue the panic Googling, the advice nurse, and the pediatrician casually wiping it off with an alcohol pad like a magic trick. Then we dive headfirst into microbiology, where we rediscover that: Anaerobes “can’t breathe fresh air,” Encapsulated bacteria are the gym bros of the microbe world, andnd urease-positive organisms somehow got saddled with the mnemonic P CHUNKS. There are a lot of medical influencers out there but Dr. Glauc is the best. Episodes are interesting and informative, with a good balance of serious and lighthearted conversations and topics. The levity and the love of medicine really shines and is so needed in this time of the moral depravity of corporate healthcare, insurance tyranny, and private equity nastiness.

I can't say enough good things about this podcast. I've been following Dr. G for a while but deleted my YouTube account, so I am glad I can continue to listen on Audible! Listening to the silly banter between Dr. G and Lady G at the beginning of the episodes is very sweet and comforting. I love the solo episodes and the ones with guests. Highly recommend 10/10!
