The brilliant sadness

I loved the up and down emotions I was happy, devastated, scared, excited, and then awestruck!! Can’t wait for the next in this series! I gotta know what happens with Caleb!

Not just a great author

I have always enjoyed Darryl’s writing and his narration is top notch!!! Can’t wait to listen to more of his books that he narrates himself!

surprisingly deep - thoroughly enjoyed

I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t quite know what to expect going in but I found it overall really relatable, especially the existential angst in the first part.

I am really looking forward to the next book. I don’t know if this is meant to be part of a longer series or just a duo or trio, but it is well written and I am hooked to read more

I wasn’t sure what to expect with the author being the narrator, but he does an amazing job. His voices are very unique across the gender spectrum and he envies a depth of feeling and emotion into all lines spoken or otherwise.

Interesting take on Vampires

Really enjoyed the reading, liked the voice of the author reading the story, hopefully he will be the voice of future books in series

Almost perfect story

I had major issues with one characters ending that I felt deserved better. The world and lore so far is very uniqe and always interesting to learn. Its great to see a new take on vampires the way this book does it. The romance was not what I wanted or expected. For me the main characters didnt have the chemistry you like to see in books like these and didnt have the time together to show you they are even the main couple. If theres anymore books set in this world I will deffently read them and would recommend them.
