Kirk sat there, flabbergasted, at his meeting with someone who might have been mistaken for just a woman in need.
Kirk started at this Bar and Grill as a delivery driver and, within three years, was promoted to manager.
Seeing how employees were treated when he was a mere driver, he vowed never to disrespect his co-workers, who were soon to become his employees. And that his customers would always come first.
So, it was very much like him to invite this then-unknown lady out of the rain. Kirk asked her out of the rain, not knowing who she was, and, in his mind, no one deserved to be in the drenching rain.
"Kirk," she said, "I know all bout you, on paper anyway, and I am not only here to give you and your staff their bonus checks, but to offer you a proposition." Kirk listened.
"May we talk in private somewhere?" she asked, and Kirk made it so.
"My name is Crystal Clarke," she said, "And I just bought all 18 Jacques Bar and Grills nationwide from my friend Jackie." Crystal went on, " She now wants to spend more time with her grandchildren and has no time for running a business."
The fact is that all 18 Bar and Grills were profitable, but this one was the most profitable. So, Crystal wanted to know more about Kirk's operation.
"I do have an airplane waiting, and I want to get into Miami by nightfall, so I'll get on with it."
Craystal got to the point: "My headquarters is in Virginia Beach and my proposal is simple," she went on... "Come to the beach and become my Vice President of Operations."
The silence was deafening.
"Think about it," she went on to say, "The company will pay all your expenses for moving and setting up residence. Will you let me know by Next Wednesday?"
'Yes, of course." Said Kirk.
