Sir Kay is a retired Knight of the Round Table. For the last decade, he's lived alone in a coastal cottage, taking odd jobs and drinking too much. After many years of solitude, Kay gets an unexpected summons from King Arthur, his foster brother and old friend. What could King Arthur possibly need from him after all this time?
King Arthur is living in constant distress. His daughter, Princess Nathalia, has gotten too beautiful for her own good. Nearly every man is smitten with her, much to her father's dismay. On her eighteenth birthday, Nathalia is allowed to meet her mother, the adulterous Lady Guinevere, for the first time—and Sir Kay is to be Nathalia's escort. Kay is a virtuous man. He's the only person Arthur can trust with such a task.
But Princess Nathalia isn't going to make it easy on Kay. The fact that he doesn't want her makes her want him more.
