There’s always more to the story. We grew up on Dateline, survived the era of AOL chatrooms, and now we’re asking the deeper, more difficult questions. Formerly known as Killer Queens, Tyrella and Nikita return with This Feels Criminal—a thoughtful evolution of the true crime conversation for an audience that’s grown up right alongside us. The Perspective After eight years and hundreds of cases, Tyrella has undergone a total deconstruction of the genre. Moving from the "if they confessed, they’re guilty" mindset to a deep understanding of systemic failures, her goal is to turn listeners into savvy jurors who know how to look past the surface. She is joined by Nikita, a practicing attorney who provides the legal literacy and technical breakdown needed to navigate the complexities of the justice system. The Vibe Think of us as your smart, slightly sarcastic filters for the chaos of all that feels criminal. We aren’t here for the shock value or the sensationalism; we’re here for the nuance. We dive deep into media framing, legal hurdles, and the psychology behind the headlines—all while maintaining an emotionally safe space and that signature dry millennial humor. What’s In The Feed From weekly flagship cases and trial analysis to documentary deep-dives, TFC is a home for the intellectually curious. We believe in education over exploitation and context over clickbait. It’s a research-driven, human-centered look at the stories that feel just a little too criminal to ignore. • Solved Cold Case: The Murder of Danni Houchins
    Apr 14 2026
In September of 1996, 15-year-old Danielle “Danni” Houchins was found lifeless and face down in a marshy area in Belgrade, Montana. The local sheriff’s department ruled her cause of death as drowning and her manner of death as undetermined. The sheriff told the press that there were no indications of foul play, despite autopsy findings showing the exact opposite. For 24 years, Danni’s case continued to grow cold, despite her family’s insistence that her death wasn’t an accident until a retired LAPD detective entered the chat and refused to quit. • The Afroman Trial Explained: White Cops Hear Rap for First Time
    Apr 7 2026
What happens when you turn a "bullshit" police raid into a viral rap song? In August 2022, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office raided Afroman’s home looking for a basement dungeon that didn't exist. When no charges were filed, Afroman did what he does best: he made music. Using security and bodycam footage, he released hits like "Lemon Pound Cake" and "Randy Walters," leading seven officers to sue him for defamation and false light. Join Tyrella and Nikita as they break down the March 2026 civil trial, the "actual malice" standard for public officials, and the "diabolically funny" moments in the courtroom—from "reshuffling" seized cash to a witness who didn't know if his own wife had cheated. It’s a masterclass in the First Amendment, parody as criticism, and why you should never mess with Afroman's mom’s pound cake. Want access to our first 45 episodes? Grab em here! • Operation Shattered Shield: The NOPD’s Most Corrupt Era
    Mar 31 2026
In the early 1990s, New Orleans was known as the "Murder Capital of America," but the most dangerous criminals weren't just on the streets—some were wearing badges. Today on This Feels Criminal, Tyrella and Nikita break down Operation Shattered Shield, the massive FBI sting that exposed deep-seated corruption within the NOPD. We follow the story of the Hardy Brothers, a violent drug syndicate protected by the very officers sworn to stop them. At the center of it all is Officer Len Davis, a man so feared he was nicknamed "The Desire Projects Terrorist." When 32-year-old mother Kim Groves filed a brutality complaint against him, she had no idea she was signing her own death warrant. In this episode, we discuss: The Hardy Boys: How Wayne and Paul Hardy built a drug empire with help from inside the police department. The FBI Sting: How an undercover agent posing as a Miami dealer caught NOPD officers guarding shipments of cocaine. The Betrayal of Kim Groves: The heartbreaking story of a mother who stood up for her community and the chilling moment her murder was caught on an FBI wire. The Aftermath: The fallout of the 2012 DOJ consent decree and the quest for reform in New Orleans. Want access to our first 45 episodes? Grab em here! I love love love these sisters. no filter and are hilarious, if you don't enjoy them- you're an uncultured swine with zero sense of humor and you need to lay off the pipe, respectfully (:

the person who gave this 1 star was on bath salts

I adore this podcast and these girls! They are able to walk that fine line of respectfully telling the stories of crime victims while also being entertaining. The flow is more conversational which I enjoy; the vibe is that of hanging out with your friends discussing true crime. They are real, relatable, and funny as hell. 10/10 for sure!!

An absolute gem!!!!

Ok so I admit, I have a bit of Podcast A.D.D. I binge for a bit and then almost never go back to it again. Killer Queens is one of the few exceptions to that. I have been listening for over a year now and I’m pretty sure I have listened to every episode including Patreon episodes at least twice.

Anywho, Tori and Tyrella achieve exactly what they set out to do, discuss true crime in a way that feels like a casual conversation with a few friends. I personally am not a fan of shows that are overly scripted, down to the last little gasp of horror.

Despite the witty banter and southern sass these ladies bring, the content is informative and the victims are ALWAYS discussed in a respectful manner.

While this podcast is probably not for everyone, if you like true crime, anything from the 90’s, or listening to people try (and fail) pronouncing names, give this a try, you won’t be disappointed! 💕

LYLAS!

Hands down my favorite!
