Sebastian Porter is coasting through life when an accident brings his plans to a standstill. As Bas nurses his physical wounds, he finds that the emotional ones—both the ones he carries and the ones he made—hurt every bit as much.

Characters a person falls in love with

Having read everything Hannah Rae has written, I can honestly say that this book is the center of everything. It all comes back to Kick It, and it’s fun to occasionally revisit the start. Seriously, at least SOMETHING from this book is referenced in every other title she’s published—kind of like what Stephen King does with It.

Rob Connolly does an excellent job of bringing Bas, Bert, Lucy, Doc, and the rest of the gang to life. I’m especially drawn to the way he reads Bas and Doc; the enthusiasm he expresses when reading Nol, too, is wonderful.

This book is a long one, but a good one, and if you haven’t yet listened to it, you should. After Kick It, all of her other books will hold even more meaning for you.

A Powerhouse of Feels! Don’t Miss This One!

This story, THIS beautifully crafted story is to be savored, embraced, digested, and then held close to your heart! I listened to this one slowly … over the course of days … throughly embracing every character, every situation … completely immersed, completely absorbed into this beautifully multifaceted story, and what an experience! I’m just going to come right out with it. Grab this one NOW. You won’t regret it. This smooth flowing story is an emotional powerhouse on so many levels! Our author deftly interweaves several enthralling subplots into a diverse and divinely mystical whole that grabbed me and DID NOT LET ME GO! It’s REAL, it’s authentic, and like life, it can get uncomfortable, it can get messy, and yes, it can get ugly! I really felt for ALL these fantastic characters! I hurt with them, I cried for them, and when good befell them, I rejoiced! I came to know every single beautifully defined character, and while I didn’t initially love them all, I found with some my opinion changing as the story progressed! This one is a powerhouse of FEELS and I felt every single beautifully narrated one! Five fantastic stars! Masterful!

Bas has impressed me...

I've read all of Hannah Rae's novels, and listened to all of her availble audiobooks, and while Sebastian is not my favorite character, this novel did make me appreciate who he is as a person. Now that I understand his trauma and where he's been in his head, I've changed my opinion. He is a really good person.

Other things that I enjoyed about this novel...? The web of characters! Charley makes an appearance! And both Jasper and Ruby are here! And Juli and Nol?! Oh my goodness!!! How fun was that?! Talk about foreshadowing!!!

This author is brilliant; I love her and highly recommend all her books.

One of my favorites!

Kick It One More Time is one of my favorite Hannah Rae books. I love how all of them tie together and enrich each other but Kick It seems to be the one that all others build on.

Draws you in

I thoroughly enjoyed listening. The author has the descriptive ability to draw you in to the characters and the situations to become invested in the story.

Character Driven Magic

Kick It One More Time is a book that has something for everyone. A charming small town, love triangles, a second chance romance, and colorful characters allow listeners and readers to connect in many ways to the story Rae has created. The narration brings the characters to life and adds even more emotional depth to Rae’s powerful words. I highly recommend!

A Must Read

Kick it One More Time is a book about Sebastian Porter. An aspiring musician who's life is turned upside down and is forced back into old familiar situations and given another chance at getting things right. Set in the picturesque small town of Lake Caywood. Once again brought to life by Hannah Rae's extremely vivid storytelling.

It was a great listen, and I highly recommend it, along with the rest of the Hannah Rae collection
