Resumen del Editor

It's very hard to work with someone who tried to murder me. But when the mysterious senator reappears on the scene, I'm desperate enough to take whatever help I can get, even if it is from Cormac. Dealing with him is nothing compared to losing a few hundred lives and that's the best case scenario. Worst case? I lose them all.

Great second look at the story

All heck is breaking loose and Jo is in the center of things. I really enjoy her narrative but I wish I knew what others were thinking as well. It is very limited as she is not really in the know and others are stingy with the info they share with her. Her attitude goes a long way in keeping you liking her. She has serious New Adult tendencies that make her a little stupid at times.

Loads of chemistry with Cormac, these two really need to do the deed already!! They are so meant for each other.

There are a lot of new supporting characters added in this book and tons of story! There are so many things going on that it gets a little tricky to follow at times. Still the end was a touch unexpected and you really need to jump straight into the next book to get the rest of the story. Not a real cliffhanger but not an ending either.

I listened to the audio book narrated by Laurel Schroeder. She does a great job and keeps things consistent from the first book. I wish some of the men had more varied voices. She has a really great feel for Jo and all her attitude. She has a nice brisk pace and adds just enough drama to her voice to really sell the action scenes. Great fit for the series.

Great Series!

Book two in the Alchemy series picks up with Jo and Cormac where book one left off. It transitions well with Jo playing poker at the Lecard Casino. Cormac has moved Jo’s trailer haven into his garage, which she isn’t very happy about. There are a few new characters added to the mix in Keepers and Killers that where interesting and integral to the plot. Remember that Jo’s a Keeper and only part Alchemist which gives her a slightly different skill set than the others. She’s good at opening wormholes for the Fae and Werewolves to move in and out of, to and from different universes.

While Jo and Buzz are on one of her shopping trips, she runs into Rick. A grown up version of the boy who grew up in the same foster home as she did. He was her childhood protector and he called her by her real name, Caitlin. The only thing is, he’s an Aid to the evil Senator Core. When they meet again to catch up, Senator Core sends her a gruesome message using Rick to deliver it for him.

Nobody knows who or what Senator Core is. They only know he isn’t human. After leaving Vitor’s house, Cormac and Jo stop at a club named The Cave where Fae and Werewolves go to hang out away from humans where they meet Mr. Burrom to try to learn more about the Senator. Jo has some silvery shimmering strands that appear a couple of times and seem to be helping her. I can’t wait to see what they turn out to be.
Jo seems to be a little more snarky this time and thinks that everyone looks at her as if she’s a high paid call girl. There’s definite angst between Cormac and Jo and they’re getting closer to something. This book had a bit of a lull in it, however the ending was pretty exciting with a bit of a cliffhanger. Overall I liked it. I like the series and look forward to seeing what happens next, especially with the Senator AND Jo and Cormac.

About the narrator: Again Laurel Schroeder delivers a powerful performance. She’s a wonderful voice actor and I really like her as Jo. She does a great job with the characters giving them all distinct voices. I look forward to book three in the series.

I received this audiobook foc inx for an unbiased review.

The adventure contines!

What made the experience of listening to Keepers & Killers the most enjoyable?

The narrator in this book is awesome! The story-telling & the emotions were so believable.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, as the world started to fall apart I could actually imagine it from the story! Earthquakes, tornado's, a Tsunami & more & more creatures!

What about Laurel Schroeder’s performance did you like?

She is awesome in reading this book. The narrator breathes life into the story. Honestly, I don't think I would get as much out of the story had I read it myself!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It kept me at the edge of my seat. What a creative imagination the author has!!! I kept waiting for the happy ending.

Any additional comments?

I look forward to the next book. This is such a good series, I hope it never ends. This book has it all... action, adventure, suspense, thriller, paranormal even a touch of romance! I highly recommend the whole series!

Not Your Hubs Sci-Fi

What did you love best about Keepers & Killers?

the sexual tension between Jo and Cormack is amazing ... will they? wont they?

Any additional comments?

the second book in the series was just as good as the first. I just found out that there are two more books in the series that are not on Audible ... I may not be able to wait for them, might just have to read them ;-)

Too short but very good.

Would you consider the audio edition of Keepers & Killers to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version

What did you like best about this story?

Innovative

Which character – as performed by Laurel Schroeder – was your favorite?

The heroine is pretty bad-a$$.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. It's easy to do with such a short book.

Any additional comments?

All three books could be sold as one book. Most sci-fi books are about 15 hours long; that would have been more satisfying. It's very expensive otherwise. I'll pay more attention in the future about the length of the books.

The second book

Any additional comments?

This is a great audiobook It's full of action, sass and smoulder and it just does not stop. The characters from book 1 are back and they become so much more fleshed out, some of the questions we had from book one are answered, and loose ends are tied up. On to the next audiobook

Excellent Series

Donna Augustine has done an excellent job of keeping the reader on the edges of their seat. Each twist and turn in the story has you anxiously turning pages and Jo, Cormac and the rest of the colorful cast just keep you wanting more.
