In it, religious wars begin to take hold as a young Catholic girl and a Huguenot believer find themselves in possession of a priceless treasure. It's a gripping story of love and betrayal, mysteries and secrets, conspiracies and divided loyalties.
We talk to Kate about the inspiration behind the novel, her research style and how she depicts women. Kate also gives us a taste of what is to come in the sequel, The City of Tears, which is set to be released in 2020.
