a weave of stories

this is kind of a love hate description. I liked that he was the stories of the pitches into the lives of the pitchers But the effects became confusing and hard to follow.
I really like to the content.

It's interesting how every pitcher has his own unique pitches - even though they are generally classified as fast ball, curve, change up, etc.

Must read for baseball fans

If you like a little hit of history and you like baseball this is a well crafted yarn of storytelling. The author brings in everyone from Babe Ruth to Tommy John to Steven Strasburg. I also appreciate the background of each of these pitches’ development and (in some cases) ongoing controversy.

Awesome for any fan especially fans of pitching

Amazing book written in a unique way. Each chapter is dedicated to one pitch, the origins of the pitch, the greats that have thrown it and contemporaries. Quotes from hitters, catchers, and of course pitchers make for a full understanding.

As a former college pitcher I loved every page but playing experience is NOT necessary at all.

I absolutely loved reading this book. if you are a baseball fan you will really enjoy this book. Does a great job at intertwining how the different pitches are thrown and the history of the game. Provides great insights into how pitchers adapted and learned from one another how to throw these different pitches.

A comprehensive look

at all 10 pitches. The author uses hall of fame and former pitchers to explain each type of pitch in the game. Each pitch is picked apart from its humble beginnings to who made it famous. Every great pitcher living or dead is highlighted in this wonderful book. A must read for all baseball fans.
