You probably already know that a healthy diet is the cornerstone for a healthy, long life. But with all of the food available to us in the Western world, why then do we continue to have so many health problems? The answer is SAD -- the Standard American Diet. Juicing fruits and vegetables, on the other hand, is quick and matter how busy you are! Keeping a supply of fresh, natural juices on hand gives you a powerful and fast way of getting a low calorie, nutrition-packed supplement to your diet that not only tastes great, but helps prevent the diseases so common in our society. No matter how old you are, adding freshly made natural juices to your daily regime will turn your SAD diet into something more balanced, healthy and supportive of longevity. So how to start with juicing? Begin at first by replacing your regular beverages with fresh juices. In the morning, fresh apple juice will give you a healthier energy boost than coffee. Instead of soda, juice some fresh fruit and add some sparkling mineral water. At bedtime, make a relaxing tonic from carrot, celery, spinach and other vegetable juices to help you sleep. And you can even make a batch of your favorite juice to bring to work or school in a thermos, so you can enjoy a healthy beverage throughout the day. Many people find that once that start juicing, it is hard to go back to their old habits of drinking carbonated drinks. In addition to being healthier, juice drinks also taste great.
