On January 12, 1888, a deadly blizzard sweeps across the Nebraska prairie without warning.

Twelve-year-old Jake Wheaten and his six-year-old brother, Tommy, are trapped at their one-room schoolhouse with classmates and their teacher as temperatures plunge and winds howl. What begins as an ordinary school day quickly becomes a fight for survival.
