Where does Journey to Ixtlan rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Castaneda's classic series is a masterful collection of writings which show great insight into Toltec teachings. It is still the definitive source for Toltec knowledge.

What about Luis Moreno’s performance did you like?

Luis Moreno captures the expression o the people speaking when reading their quotes. He serves as a great voice for Castaneda, because he gives one the feeling that Castaneda is really reading the book to you. At the same time, he does not overdo it.

I wish there were more of Castaneda's books on Audible.

This book has changed my life forever. The narrator was fantastic. This is what I call a must read. Beautifully composed.

I’ve read this book a few times but this is my first listen. I don’t ever remember it bringing up this much melancholy within me. So much depth and sadness in the warrior travelers journey.

Very informative and well read

The third book in Carlos Castaneda series, is very informative and fills in a lot of gaps from the first two books. Luis Moreno is a wonderful narrator who brings the characters to life.

What made the experience of listening to Journey to Ixtlan the most enjoyable?

This is my third Audible Castaneda book and I am hoping for more soon. I think following his journey in succession is key to understanding his experience. It seems that each book becomes more "mature" in its content.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Journey to Ixtlan?

I laughed out loud a great number of times when picturing Don Juan and Don Hernado responding to Carlos' inane questions, only to realize I would have asked the exact same question ... funny because it's true.

What does Luis Moreno bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Honestly I think Mr. Moreno's accent brings an air of authenticity to the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The last five minutes of the book summed up so much of what life is all about, I was moved to tears.

Any additional comments?

Don't get hung up on whether or not this is entirely factual. That is not important, suspend you disbelief and learn through the excellent story telling. Then decide for yourself. I struggled with some of Castaneda's experiences, but I prefer to take his word for it and understand that there is more out there that I have NOT experienced than what I have!

Impeccable Narrator, Impeccable Tale

I would personally consider this the greatest self help book ever written. Some people discount Castaneda as having made up the characters and the dialogue, but those with the proper intent will realize it doesn't matter. Marvelous book.

Feelings for Memories, Remembered

The lessons of Don Juan taught through first hand stories are both engaging and thorough.
I have even applied some of the 'interesting' tenets of Don Juan with immediate and pleasant results.👍
