Acerca de esta escucha

In the once-tranquil town of Briarwood, 1963 marked the year when peace shattered into chaos. A lifetime of torment and humiliation pushed Jones Jepsen to the brink, and within him, a dormant darkness awakened.

In a chilling rampage driven by a thirst for revenge, Jones embarks on a spree of violence that shakes the very foundation of Briarwood. As the body count rises, the town's inhabitants find themselves trapped in a nightmare, asking the harrowing question: Will anyone be safe from the wrath of Jones? In this heart-pounding tale of vengeance and suspense, the battle for survival takes center stage, and the fate of Briarwood hangs in the balance.

A Chilling, Unforgettable Thriller

Some books pull you in with their covers alone, and Jones 1963 did just that for me. The eerie, haunting artwork immediately set the tone, and once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. The tension is relentless. You know that feeling in a haunted house when you're just waiting for something to happen? That’s how I felt throughout this entire book.

At its core, this is the story of Jones—a boy who faces more than his fair share of hardship. I found myself relating to parts of his childhood, and as the book progressed, one question kept running through my mind: How much can one person take before they snap? This story takes you right to that breaking point and beyond, delivering a psychological and supernatural punch that lingers long after the final page.

Joe Hempel does an incredible job narrating this book. His voice perfectly captures the creeping dread and emotional weight of the story. He brings Jones to life in a way that makes you feel every ounce of his pain and tension. His performance elevates an already fantastic book into an unforgettable experience.

If you’re a fan of authors like Stephen King or Paul Tremblay—writers who masterfully blend psychological horror with raw human emotion—then you need to read Jones 1963. Cabrera’s storytelling is immersive, unsettling, and impossible to put down.

This is the kind of book that sticks with you. It’s terrifying, yes, but it’s also deeply emotional. You feel for Jones even as you brace yourself for what’s coming next. Five stars all the way—if I could rate it higher, I would!

Bloody good fun

Highly entertaining, extreme teenage slasher that won’t leave you feeling bad for rooting for the killer
Joe’s narration is always spot on and never fails to add a layer of enjoyment to anything he lends his voice to

If you’re in the mood for a revenge tale, that isn’t afraid to get bloody, I highly recommend you making this. Your next read. 5stars

I had really high expectations…

Ehhh… I had really high expectations for this book, especially seeing (mostly) good reviews on multiple platforms.
It was very surface level, and repetitive in some areas. I pushed through reading it because I was wanting to give it a chance and hoping for it to get better. Ultimately, I was extremely underwhelmed.
