Some lights are made to shine brighter
As a fellow South African who has watched Johannes on Strictly, I couldn't wait to read his story. It pulls on the heartstrings but at the same time, uplifts and reminds us of the power of unconditional love. Johannes tells his story with honesty and openness but without self pity for difficulties growing up as black and gay in South Africa. I am incredibly proud of his accomplishments won through his passion, dedication and hard work. His bravery in stepping into the spotlight and performing ground breaking routines touches a deep chord.
Its a wonderful book. His character, gentleness and big heart shines through his words.
