If you could sum up John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme: The Complete Series 1 in three words, what would they be?

Marmite-flavored toothpaste

What did you like best about this story?

It is basically a consistently funny sketch show. If ever there were an elusive creation, that would be it: consistently funny sketch comedy. Almost every skit is right on target, hilarious, well-acted, and well-paced.

What does John Finnemore bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice has the ability to make me instantly want to smile. It is reflexive at this point. The sound of his voice is irreversibly linked in my mind to happiness and laughter.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES! However, I love to simply relisten to favorite pieces as well--I can't refrain from sharing them with just about anybody I can get to listen (anyone who has needed a car ride from me in the last eight months is now very familiar with John Finnemore's comedy shows, both souvenir programme and cabin pressure)

Listen to it! It will be one of the best choices you could possibly make for your time.

Love the show, although its best work comes later

I love JFSP, and listen to it often. While my favorite material is in the second and third collections of the show, there's still plenty of Finnemore's smart zaniness to make this an oft-played collection.

John Finnemore is a genius!

I loved his Cabin Pressure radio play and have listened to it at least 4 times through so far. I'm glad to have found something else by him. My only complaint is that he's not more prolific! I'd listen to him read the phone book. I bet it would still be hilarious!

Fun and fast paced.

This was a very fast pace series of vignettes. I found them to be funny, and the narrators were spot on.

Endlessly amazing

I can’t even count how many times I’ve listened to this show. The skits are amazingly funny, and many show true touches of genius. Some are purely entertainment, but in others, the wordplay and satire, while always good-natured, are incredibly smart. The cast is versatile and talented, and John Finnemore himself is, of course, the cornerstone of the comedy here. I often laugh out loud in public while I’m listening, even though I’ve heard every sketch at least half a dozen times by now. If you love Cabin Pressure, you’ll love this. If you’ve never heard Cabin Pressure, just buy both.

Entertaining

I found this program to be both entertaining and a fun listen. Since I loved Cabin Pressure, I figured I'd give it a try.

Very funny

Very funny, entertaining. I fell in love with John Finnermore with Cabin Pressure. His wit and humor and sense of the ridiculous will give you all the fun you can with an audio book. If you're every blue or down or need a lift, give this a listen.
