Resumen del Editor

In Jewish Pride: Rebuilding a People, Ben M. Freeman, inspired by his experiences with LGBTQ+ pride, aims to educate, inspire and empower Jewish people to reject the shame of antisemitism imposed on Jews by the non-Jewish world as well as non-Jewish perceptions of what it means to be a Jew, enabling them to begin the process of defining their own identities as proud Jews through Jewish experience, Jewish history, and Jewish values.

Jewish Pride is an urgent and essential listen.

Incredibly Informative

The book includes many facts and historical accounts. It touches on the history of antisemitism and how it is a problem for the non-Jewish world to solve with help from Jewish voices. Highly recommend to all people regardless of race, religion or ethnic origins because there are many things to learn from this book.

The inter-generational trauma and mental health impacts of antisemitism and hatred that has likely affected all Jews sometimes leads to assimilation as a coping mechanism or even internalized antisemitism. This book carefully outlines historical examples of this and focuses on how Jewish people can learn from this history to avoid repeating some of the mistakes of their ancestors.

It empowers Jewish people to feel proud of their identity for all the right reasons. It is a must read especially for Jews who grew up in America and might have lost touch with their Jewish identity.

Tedious

Reading this book felt like a real slog. The writer seemed more into themselves than the narrative, making it hard to get into. There's not much to back up the author's opinions – no real reasons or references. Overall, it was just plain boring and felt like a waste of time. The author tried to share their point of view, but without good reasons, it didn't click. By the end, I was left wondering why I bothered with it at all – a forgettable trip through a boring story.
