The Destroyer

This book is about jealousy and the devastating consequences it can lead to. Jealousy is a destroyer and is sometimes referred to as a green-eyed monster. Jealousy usually stems from insecurity.
Jealousy is a seductive trap that can destroy you. Jealousy if carried to the extreme leads to death. Jealousy leads to bickering, fighting, hatred, and sometimes murder.
Jealousy in sports is often thought of as harmless, but is it really? There are incidents of players and even their families sabotaging other players. Even the parents of grade-school children playing football, baseball, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, and cheerleading have been known to sabotage the efforts of other children.
This also happens in the church. Ministers and ministries often are not very kind to each other because of envy and jealousy. This can also happen with church members serving in different areas. For instance, singers and band members can become envious and jealous of each other when one is more gifted than the other. This can happen in many areas. Some Sunday school teachers are more gifted than others. Some preachers are more gifted than others.
