Why did we come here again?

An amazingly unique world is explored by a handful of heroic scientists warriors. It’s so bizarre that I had, at times, difficulty in visualizing where they were and what the creatures looked like who they were fighting. Really interesting stuff I’d never heard in an audiobook before. It’s non-stop action where I never knew what was coming up next or how would our hero’s probability prevail? My only question that kept coming back to me each chapter is “Why were they there and what were they supposed to be doing?” Obviously they were there to escapes many perils and battle many monsters… but there had to be something else too. Perhaps I missed something in the first chapter. Excellent entertainment for a rousing good adventure.
