Reseñas editoriales

Author Andrew Daddo’s performance of his own It’s All Good, a deeply affecting memoir about adventure, tragedy, and a friendship spanning decades and continents, is energetic and adept.

Beyond his strong pacing and clear elocution, Daddo knows exactly how to articulate the emotionality inherent in this audiobook, which is framed as a letter to a woman named Rose, the daughter of Daddo’s old friend Ray, now dead. As Daddo describes the long arc of this friendship, and the cross-country trip which first cemented it, the listener is swept up in a story both humorous and poignant - and not soon to be forgotten.

Resumen del Editor

In 1991 Andrew Daddo was sacked as an MTV presenter. Rather than slink back to Australia immediately, Andrew and a guy he'd met at a party named Ray O'Neal set off on a month-long motorcycle journey across America. That summer spent riding cross-country with Ray forged a friendship that Andrew thought would last a lifetime. But in February 2004, Ray died in an accident. He left behind a wife and a young daughter, Rose.

In It's All Good, Daddo writes about that motorcycle journey, the people he met, and the things he and Ray did, as a way of sharing with Rose some memories of her father.

Thoroughly Enjoyable

As an Australian living in the US, I found Daddo's commentary extremely refreshing. A very relatable account of working, travelling and experiencing the US, this book had me laughing out loud and now I am looking for more!
