Resumen del Editor

The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books began in 1996 with a simple goal: to bring together the people who create books with the people who love to read them. The festival was an immediate success and has become the largest and most prestigious book festival in the country, attracting more than 130,000 book lovers each year.

Matt Miller is a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress and a columnist for Fortune. He is the host of KCRW's Left, Right & Center program. His book, The Two Percent Solution: Fixing America's Problems in Ways Liberals and Conservatives Can Love, was a Los Angeles Times best seller.

Farai Chideya is a CNN political commentator, multimedia personality, freelance journalist, and published author. Her debut novel is Kiss the Sky.

Gene Healy, senior editor at the Cato Institute, is the author of several books on executive-power abuses by presidents of both parties, including Power Surge and, recently, The Cult of the Presidency. Healy has appeared on PBS's News Hour and NPR's Talk of the Nation.

Mickey Kaus writes Kausfiles, a political weblog for Slate magazine. He has written about public policy for Newsweek, New Republic, and Washington Monthly, where he remains a contributing editor. Kaus is the author of The End of Equality, which was a co-winner of the 1992 Washington Monthly Political Book Award.

Lawrence O'Donnell is a political analyst and former chief of staff for the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance. He was also an Emmy Award-winning producer for the NBC series The West Wing. O'Donnell is also the creator and executive producer of the NBC series Mister Sterling.
