This is what's going on in the world today and it's very sad. Everyone should be treated equally.

Great story line! Awesome performance!

This story is an example of how the world was and still is today. The part about Andre’s Papa made me tear up. Other parts as well were heartfelt. Gave me flashbacks of what happened to a lot of our loved ones, including mine.

Great read!!!

Many years ago I would read books to my daughter at bedtime. Fast forward to present day and now WE can read them together… our own private book club. This was our first book we tackled together. The interwoven themes made for an awesome read/listen. Indeed “the past is still with us”. Additionally, Andre’s playlist was a blast from the past and fun to share with my Gen Z’er.

A MUST READ!

An AMAZING book. My 12 year old enjoyed it so much, he said it should be a movie. Kept our attention the entire time.

Loved this book

This book captivated me from the first page to the last. The narrator was great as well.

Loved the highlights of black experiences during COVID

This was such a great, real and raw read! Some Parts were hard to hear.

Finished in less than 24 hours

This was such a good story! Themes of discrimination, profiling, romance, gentrification, and adoption all take place during the unfolding COVID pandemic. Couldn’t stop listening. Very well done!

Great Listen

Saw this book on a list of new releases. I've been having a hard time finding diverse new releases that aren't historical fiction.
