Japan is home to many gods, so many that they are said to be countless. One of the gods that attracts the most worship is O-Inari-san. 日本には八百万といわれるほど多くの神様がおり、その中でも特に信仰を集める神様のひとつが「お稲荷さん」です。
元来、お稲荷さんは農耕の神でしたが、現在では五穀豊穣だけでなく家内安全、学業成就など、あらゆる願い事を聞き入れてくれる神様として信仰されています。
日本にはお稲荷さんを祀る神社が約3万あり、その総本宮が京都の伏見稲荷大社です。
この神社は、生命の色とも魔除けの色ともいわれる朱色（赤色）の鳥居が、境内を隙間なく埋め尽くしていることで知られます。
