Acerca de esta escucha
Nick Moulin is a rational, thinking man, who one day acquires a fascinating old book that brings him a dream of a beautiful woman and an adventure of long ago.
©2012 Julianne Lee (P)2013 Audible, Inc.Reseñas editoriales
The slight gravelly tone in veteran performer, James Patrick Cronin’s voice immediately sends listeners back in time where one’s ability to wield a sword goes a little further than navigating a smart phone. In Interloper at Glencoe, Nick is doing his customary hunting for old and rare books, when he finds a book so old and mysterious its color could only be described "as if age was the only thing on it". As Nick soon finds out, the pulsing and warmth he first felt in this mysterious book is only the beginning. With the flip of a page, Nick is flung back in time to a world he could never envision.

Scotland forever!
I didn’t care for the narrator at first because I thought he should be Scottish but he did a decent job with the Scottish accents, even Beths, a woman. I knew the story of Glencoe quite well and have been there and so this book really appealed to me. I love the time travel but most of all I love the two main characters Nick and Beth. The fairy business was not my favorite part but they had to explain the time travel somehow. I would recommend this book to those interested in Scottish history, time travel, or a sweet romance.

Wonderfully written
Loved everything about this book. So glad I gave it a try. The title wasn’t the most eye catching... but I love Scottish history and wanted to see what it was about. So worth the listen.

Great story!
I enjoyed this book. Kept me interested the whole time. Finished in 2 days. Good story, wasn't slow, had some humor, made me smile. I liked the ending. I seen some complaints about the narrator in the reviews, but I didn't think he was bad. I know if I would've read this book I would have made plenty of mistakes with the language, and since I don't know the language, I didn't notice his mistakes. I thought it was very enjoyable. Definitely recommend. Language, and some graphic sex warning.

Easy read
Easy and enjoyable read....Loved it! It is hard to imagine existing in the past but to go to the future well, I think that would be ever more difficult. Nice read!

Glad it was free
I ended up enjoying thjs story more than I thought I would. The tale itself was kind of tedious, but the thing that really kept me from rating it better was the narrator. His reading style is pedantic, and his “Scottish” accent varied from basic bad pronunciation of Scottish terms, such as putting them emphasis on the wrong syllable or words like “cannae” and “Dougal”, to sounding Norwegian rather than Scottish. Some of that is down to the director, too. Although the historic aspects are accurate in a general sense, I found it hard to believe the female lead’s easy acceptance of the situation she finds herself in (I don’t want to give too much away), and the author left some things unresolved that I would have liked to see wrapped up (the male lead’s mother). Overall, I found myself just wanting to be finished with the story so I could move on to the next.
