Resumen del Editor

There are literally thousands of books available on how to live various aspects of the Christian life. Of these, at least a couple of dozen pertaining to family life and child training are well worth reading. This is not one of those books.

This book is designed to help you take those other books, as well as all the sermons, teachings, and exhortations you have received on child training and leadership in the home, and make sense of it all. Pastor Tad Thompson has assembled a biblical approach to effective family discipleship. Let him share it with you in this clear, encouraging, accessible book.

This is not another book of tactics and techniques. It is a book of strategy for parents who want to be intentional about discipleship in the home.

Awakening

When I added this book to my wishlist, I was just trying to find all books about being intentional and I can say that so far this book has been the first that is straight to the point and the focus showed where the parents have to be in order to parent intentionally. The book brought me back to a refreshing place, somewhere that I used to be concerned with more when my son was younger & has kind of faded since he's been a teenager and my life became clouded with so many activities that I needed to listen to this book to put me back on track to the higher eternal goal. The book had great suggestions to implement in a believer's life and I will take those steps to make sure that I am able to give my son all that is needed for his growth and development in Christ.

As a pastor, I cannot recommend this book enough

The principles and practices laid out in this book create a biblically-based and practical guide for discipling our children. Listening to this book is exciting and empowering as a parent as I’m reminded of my role as a discipler and that God’s word provides me with everything I need to lovingly lead my kids into His Kingdom.

great material, encouraging

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Great material. Very practical, and very biblical. Appreciate him identifying and calling out false gospels for what they are - lies.

What did you like best about this story?

Achievable tasks and disciplines to build into to being intentional about discipling our children.

What three words best describe Tad Thompson???s performance?

normal, flat, some missteps

Any additional comments?

Great book, definitely worth a listen, and it encouraged me.

Take some pieces with a grain of salt - 'if you don't take your kids to church every Sunday no matter what, they'll percieve that Jesus is not that important to you'
I'm not sure that's the case. I understand the sentiment, but we cannot be that legalistic about our faith. And we cannot equate a church building/event with how much we love Jesus. We should love other people always, in all ways, THEN our kids will know we love Jesus, not because we showed up to a building every week, even when they were sick. That sounds awful.

The reading is ok, there are many points where the rhythm is interrupted, or words are stumbled over that should have been edited or over-dubbed, they are distracting. Also, the EQ is a bit too bassy, took some adjustments to make it clear in my car.
