A Novella with a lot to enjoy & great narration!

I loved this fun Novella by Casey Cline! It's got so much going on and with the narration of Noah Wall of the book, it was a great adventure! I turned it on while I was doing my cleaning and found myself thrilled with the story of Violet Stm James and William Montgomery set in 1866 in the town of Dearborn, Colorado. This is a short story but the story line was not rushing to a finish but gave the mystery surrounding Violet, who came to teach, and the busy job of William, and the mystery surrounding both of them, as the story unfolded. The adventure, chaos, mystery and then the final ending surprised even me!

I was given an ALC by the author but all my thoughts & opinions are my own! I highly recommend this audiobook to those wanting a fun & surprising story to enjoy.

I listened to it at 1.2x speed and found it was very enjoyable!

I absolutely love listening to Noah Wall bring Will & Violet's uncertain, caring, hopeful, loving, sweet n swoony happily ever after to life!!

A quick listen that leaves a heartfelt impression

Beautifully written with vivid descriptions. The story draws you in quickly and delivers a charming, suspenseful read with great characters and some exciting twists.

A delightful quick read

If you are looking for a quick western read this book is for you! I really enjoyed it. the relationship between the couple is sweet. The drama is detailed enough and enough they're that you are satisfied, but it doesn't take up too much time in the 2 hour audiobook. One if my favorite parts is that she's the hero! Hurray!! I love that! Give it a read and the audio narrator did a great job! I enjoyed her voices and the emotion she added to the story.

An Enjoyable Western Romance

Even though I am mainly a fantasy reader. I can’t ignore an intriguing cowboy romance.

Violet St. James travels to Dearborn, Colorado in order to accept a teaching position. The first person she meets when she gets into town is the charming Mr. William Montgomery.

William Montgomery, or Will is captivated by Violet the moment she comes into town. Their love blossoms over the next few months. That is until secrets come to light and they are forced to say goodbye.


This was a clean and wholesome western story. Casey Cline did a wonderful job pulling me into the story quickly and didn’t make any of the story feel rushed even with such a short story. There is a slow falling of love, action, misunderstandings, and truths coming out. It felt like a hug from a favorite childhood TV show Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.

The Narrator Noah did a wonderful job with this audio. Her voice was smooth and calm.
I listened to this at 1.2x speed.

Charming Western & Sweet Romance with Shining Narration

This historical fiction novella was such a treat! It’s sweet and heartwarming with a sprinkle of drama, a dash of western tension, and just the right amount of swoony romance. Told from dual POV, we get to follow Violet, the new schoolteacher in town, and Will, the man determined to win her heart.

The pacing was spot-on for a story this length. At just about two hours, it’s perfect for listening on a car ride, while folding laundry, or lounging poolside.

Noah Wall is absolutely ideal for this narration. I’ve always loved her smooth cadence and warm delivery, and she brings these characters to life beautifully.

I’m so excited to continue with the Colorado Courtship series! I hope Violet and Will pop in for a cameo or two down the line.
