Julia has the perfect life—a happy marriage, a precocious son, and twin daughters on the way. She is forced to rethink her idea of perfection, however, when her daughters, born prematurely, face devastating health consequences and her marriage can’t withstand the challenges of this new normal.
Gail has not allowed herself to get caught up in looking for perfection, having learned long ago no such thing exists. She creates a life that works for her and her son. Despite his autism, they can manage just fine. Or so she thinks.
Julia and Gail share little in common, but when their sons develop a unique friendship, the two women find their lives intertwined in ways they never thought possible.
