Excellent read for those interested in history and not theory. Stockwell writes intelligently, with a healthy moral compass, and a factual first hand account.

My Country Tis Of Thee, Sweet Land Of Liberty?

This book need to tbe listened to or read by every American. We are told that we must trust and believe in America, should we continually go blindly into that night? The US government has become more secretive than it has in the last half of the 20th century and call it national security. Have we finally lost our way and our soul in our effort to build a new world order? Many nations have tried this in the past and failed, from the Romans to the present must America learn the same leason? You want to be in charge you will pay the in charge price as all nations in the past have learned.

Fascinating and exciting read!

This is a great book. If you like Cold War era intrigue with a moral outlook, this is a fantastic book.

Essentially, an honest assessment

An honest assessment of a dishonest, often misanthropic culture… the human race. That the United States happens to be the current leader in this insane marathon to Armageddon makes it more interesting for this reader. Having lived long enough to have watched this plot unfold ( sometimes right around me) I recommend “Search for Enemies”.

CIA in Angola

I really enjoyed learning about the CIA involvement in Angola. Especially from the perspective of someone who was there.

A DISILLUSIONED COLD WARRIOR

An old Africa hand gets involved with the war in Angola and becomes totally disillusioned, writes a book and becomes a whistle blower - a casualty of the Cold War.

I like the CIA in theory. We need an intelligence gathering service but the excesses of the Cold War years are disheartening. More recent CIA memoirs lead me to believe that we've gotten better. Let's hope so.

Fascinating

As I am about to travel to Angola and no nothing about the war I came upon this title and decided to give it a go. What a fascinating and horrifying insight into the CIA involvement in Angola. Well narrated and honestly written.

Unlike legacy of ashes thus cia tell all gives a great account of a specific operation and it’s context within history, all with seamless (and well cited) comments about the history of the agency
