Acerca de esta escucha

Susie has a beef with many women's magazines - she's mad that they change sexual facts just to fit more fashionable ideals. Give us a break! In today's show, Susie helps dig out the dirt on these less-than-truthful articles. A story in the Columbia Journalism Review fuels today's discussion. "Sex, Lies and Women's Magazines" by Liza Featherstone brings up many interesting questions on the merit of magazine stories that produce sexual anxiety, obsession, and insecurities. Susie goes over some of the headlines you've seen while checking out in the grocery line: "7 Great Tips for Better Sex", "The 5 most Erotic Body Parts", and "The 10 Best Places to Make Love".

Next, Susie takes us to Czechoslovakia, where a recent study proclaims that foreplay is overrated. That's right, they've proven, through surveys, that great sex and orgasm comes from the old in and out, not any pre-fun stimulation. So shall we join Eastern European women who are ready to go at it at full blast?

Then, in the "Try This at Home" mailbag, Susie gets a letter from a listener who reports no problems...and wants to let everybody know that there can be life after marriage, kids and divorce. You can send your confidential questions - plus requests for free samples and blog banners! - to susie@susiebright.com. (Episode 366, November 14, 2008)
