This is a funny story told from a female perspective and highlights the effects of turning 50 more specifically on the female body which changes a little differently then a man. I would imagine every person faces their own challenges at 50, and it can be a little different for everyone, this is a good listen for people in that situation or time in their life.

Those turning 50 will receive some enjoyment out of this book from its' humor nature while thinking on no I'm not really looking forward to that.

If you want to feel seen

This book had me laughing out loud and also quietly saying “same” way too many times. Turning 50 is usually talked so seriously and Marie makes it absolutely hilarious and painfully relatable. It’s raw and honest but also strangely comforting like talking to your friend who has zero filter. And I have to say the voice actor is perfect, the delivery makes it even better.

I’m basically a fan of Linda Sanchez’s books, I have Half of Me and Voices, so maybe you could say I’m a bit too optimistic, but this audiobook was amazing, fun, and refreshingly different from her other works. I also learned tons about what women go through after their 50s just by following the story. I wish it were fake because it’s too hilarious to be real!

Marie, a newly minted member of the big 5-0 club, starts to think she’s lost her touch: her breasts seem to have a life of their own, the extra pounds are moving in for good, and keeping balance in life feels as rare as finding a Ninja Turtle on the ceiling.

I’m grateful the author decided to sprinkle humor throughout this story because it’s exactly what I need these days. If you’re looking for a big LOL and a way to laugh at, not cry about, the changes your body’s going through, this is the perfect place to start.
