When we last saw Zippy, she was oblivious to the storm that was brewing in her home. Her mother, Delonda, had literally just gotten up off the couch and ridden her rickety bicycle down the road. Her dad was off somewhere, gambling or "working." And Zippy was lost in her own fabulous world of exploring the fringes of Moorland, Indiana.

Good story but...
The narrator ruined it for me. I’m sorry but she is whispering and it’s putting me to sleep. She sound like she is bored and need a bit more energy.

Needs to be a film!
What did you love best about I'll Be There?
The author and the reader painted such a clear, in-depth picture of the story that I felt I was seeing the movie of it play in my mind's eye.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
True-to-life characters and serious story seasoned with the right amount of wit, adventure and romance!

H.G.Sloan has done it again!
I'll Be There is gripping from first sentence until last! I'm eager to jump into the rest of the story with Just Call My Name.

Achingly Beautiful Story, Unsatisfying Narration
I love this book and it deserves a quality narration. Sadly it didn't get one. Laura Jennings has a decent voice, but she read this in a choppy way- with incorrect emphasis that often didn't match the punctuation. She also tended to read in a monotone that was hard to listen to. I still purchased the book because I like the writing enough to ignore the way it's read.
