Lila Fleming.
Good sister. Good friend. Good girl.
Lila spends her life walking a straight line. No swerves. No excitement. Her future seems mapped out. A very boring future - one where her secret dreams will never see the light of day.
Then one snow-filled day, she meets a man who will shake up her routine, capture her heart, and help make all her dreams come true.
Welcome to a Christmas in Harper Falls. Filled with laughs, old friends, and a happily ever after. Oh, and Cooper, a dog who will steal your heart.

Sam Lawton is a big-shot entertainment mogul in Hollywood. Lila Fleming owns a flower shop in
Harper Falls. On his way into town, Sam stops at Lila’s shop to buy flowers for a Christmas party he’s attending in Harper Falls, right after he rescues a dog from the side of the road. After checking for owners, he quasi-adopts the dog and names him Cooper. There is immediate attraction and flirtation between these two protagonists, but Lila is wary, because Sam is quite a player, and she isn’t.
They meet again at the party, and spend some time getting to know each other. The action moves quickly, as this is a shorter audiobook. There are some minor challenges to overcome, but they do finally figure it out. The flirtation doesn’t seem as natural for the male protagonist, but maybe that is because he’s uncomfortable with having to work for a woman’s attention. Lila has a few insecurities as well, which adds to some low-level tension.
The narrator does a decent job with this story. There aren’t any noticeable flubs or extra noises. Her voice characterizations are adequate to get the job done, but not amazing. She is able to convey each character’s personality as written by the author. This is a good story that is a fast listen. There are visits from prior Harper Falls residents as well as told in other books in this series, which adds to the listener’s enjoyment.
