Love was for others. Never for her.

Emma Brewster plans her escape from her scandalous life with care. She will never cater to a man’s needs again. Instead, she’ll make her way to Kansas City, and become a respectable seamstress with her own shop. Sitting on the stagecoach to begin her journey, she knows she is leaving one thing behind. It might be a chance at love, but her trip will be interrupted in an unexpected way . . .

Excerpt:

The stagecoach lurched to a dead stop, almost throwing her from her seat. Emma lifted the leather curtain and peered outside intending to ask the driver what the problem was. The door was yanked open and the driver, his eyes bulging with concern, rushed his words. "Miss, my company warned me to give any robbers whatever they asked for." His weather-lined face was grim and apologetic. Emma didn't fail to note the man's grubby hat was not on his head but in his hands. His nails were broken and dirty, digging deep in the leather. "What are they looking for?" Emma asked, taking the driver's hand to climb out and check out the commotion. One part of her thrilled at the knowledge that she was part of a stagecoach robbery. The other was a little afraid but since robbers rarely took more than the bags of cash and allowed the passengers to go their way, she didn't choose to worry. She stepped down, preparing to meet these men who dared to rob the coach she was on. Her gaze fixed on the poor, discomfited man facing her. He gnawed his lower lip for a tense second before he said simply, barely above a rattled whisper, "You." Historical Western/Steamy Romance
