The 'gifts' granted by the Stars still function, their use of technology even thriving in some places as humanity picks up the pieces. But not in Bask.

Bask has developed into a sleepy little town in a valley, and Sara had begun to imagine she would live out the rest of her life there. Faced with this doom and tempted by rumors of a much more industrious place called Fort Penn, Sara sets out into the wilds in search of a better place. What she finds instead is a dangerous world severely in need of aid. A world no more ready to accept her than Bask - a world aware that it does not have the luxury to select its heroes in times of great trial.

the virtual narration had some issues with some words, like "yeah", so I recommend reading this. otherwise I did enjoy it

Terrible computernarration

The voice sounds good, the mispronunciations can be distracting, but the pacing leaves you confused at times trying to figure out what is going on. A little bit of editing would go a long way. The good humans are so much better.
