What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Love david brenner, but after a time even very funny material gets old.

This is not the David Brenner you see on TV

There are very few audio books I do not finish. This is one of them. I gave up in disgust. If you are expecting the David Brenner you saw on the Tonight Show, you will be sorely disappointed. Yes, his material is funny, but it is laced with an overabundance of gratuitious profanity that does absolutely nothing to make his material funnier. If anything, it makes it less funny because it is so unnecessarily crude. Please don't think I'm some sort of prude. I know all the words, and have used them myself from time to time. But there is absolutely no need for the verbal onslaught the Brenner presents in this recording. His material would have been just as funny without it.
