Raw and honest

From the beginning to the very end, this story kept me listening, anxious awaiting to see how it would play out. It’s such a raw story of the abuses some people experience and the power of manipulation. My heart broke so many times over for Emily and made me want to hug her. At times, I felt overwhelmed just listening which speaks to level of storytelling Erinn brought to writing her story. I feel like I have a better understanding of abusive relationships and am better for having listened to this story. Share it with your friends, females, sisters, and anyone struggling, I know I will be for years to come.

A captivating storyline and look into the hidden world of domestic abuse.

This is a super well written book and great performance done by the reader. The main character is easy to love and you’ll find yourself wanting to read more to find out what happens to her. The content is heavy, but it’s an excellent look into the sometimes hidden world of domestic violence victims.

The author does an incredible job of bringing the characters to life—I felt like I knew them personally, experiencing their pain, resilience, and healing alongside them.

While it can be a tough read at times, it’s also incredibly empowering. I highly recommend it to anyone who has experienced trauma, is in the process of healing, or wants to better understand the complexities of abuse and survival. This book stays with you long after you turn the last page.

What a gripping story. I literally couldn’t stop listening. The chosen narrator’s delivery was excellent. So well done!

Emotionally Gripping

The first quote had me crying. And that’s just the start. As someone who has gone through and come out the other side of a toxic relationship, this book takes you through all the emotions. The journey feels like your own and can help process and validate a lot of what you went through on your own. Reading the book is one thing, but listening brought out even more emotions. Erinn Keala wrote a beautiful masterpiece of hurt and healing. I highly recommend.
