Acerca de esta escucha
Fawn Darling could have written the book on doing what was expected of her.
Living in her hometown, where everyone knows and loves her? Check.
Working as a nurse, just like her mama, Libby, the mother she remembers only occasionally now, did? Check.
Engaged to the nice guy, her lifelong friend, Brandon Sullivan? Check.
Fawn has always done what's predictable which is why when the man she has loved all her life and could never forget, Mathis Corsia, crashes her engagement party with declarations of love and devotion it could have been a moment to ignore except for one very big thing;
Fawn doesn't want to ignore it.
What do you do when everything falls apart for the world to see?
Sometimes, you do the only thing you can.
You lean in for the fall and reach for what you love most.
Damn the consequences.

Cute story, I appreciated the representation.
I struggled to connect with the characters and feel drawn in to absolutely want to listen again soon. It may be because this is part of a series and I’m jumping in the middle. The narrator’s voice was very enjoyable and she did a great job. I generally prefer a narration with dual voices, or where the male parts have a more masculine undertone to better differentiate between the characters while listening. There wasn’t change in the voice between the characters so I would get a bit lost if my brain would wander with who was speaking.
It’s not a bad book or bad narration at all! I just didn’t feel pulled in eager to hear the next chapter. I really appreciated the deaf representation though 🫶🏼
