Acerca de esta escucha
Jonah is not about a big fish, but a big God. Jonah is not about an angry prophet, but about a God who is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Jonah is not about a prophet who goes down to Sheol, but a God who brings the dead to life. Jonah is not about Nineveh that great city, but about a God who is the Conqueror of kingdoms and the Ruler of nations. Jonah is not about a prophet who flees, but a God who pursues. Jonah is not about a king who puts on sackcloth, but about a God who takes on flesh. In short, Jonah is not really about Jonah, it is all about the one greater than Jonah, namely, Jesus!

Excellent Study!
Andy does a great job at showing the listener how Jonah parallels with much of our own relationship to God. He gives a fresh perspective on this Old Testament book of how we are to relate to God and God’s overarching goodness towards His people.

Excellent, Valuable Christian Lessons
The greatest, biggest connection I made from this book is the comparison between Jonah andparable of the forgiven debts. Interestingly, I had an epiphany during the reading of this book of this connection. Imagine my surprise when, two or three minutes later, the same exact connection is made by the author!
I wasn't impressed by the performance of the reading, but it was read clearly, with good diction, and easy to understand.
I think a key to understanding this book is that it isn't necessarily formatted the way other books are. This one seems like a spiritual thoughts journal, with entries having been made years apart, and each one having its own introduction to the material. For a book, it feels redundant over time, chapter after chapter repeating the same parts of the story with some nuances, but there is a lot of digging to get to the nuanced parts. But thinking of it as a collection of thoughts, it becomes less redundant, and the digging is less tiresome.
Nevertheless, the book is a solid read. Much of the content reads as true doctrine to me. I do not agree with all of it, but on the whole, I, who pertain to a different sect of Christianity than the author, still find much that I agree with.
