Christianity in its purest form

Many times people think to be a Christian means to be free from sinful desires, or lust, or anything that's bad or even to be at peace and that is just not the case. Lecrae bears his soul, even at the risk of scrutiny, to talk about a familiar situation many young, Black, educated Christians find themselves lost in. His journey is a story that needs to be told, and I'm glad someone of his statue is able to tell it. I don't know how someone could read/listen to him and not be moved not just off of preconceived notions but moved to action to create equity around the world.

Great self help book

I'm a little white girl who doesn't believe in a literal God but I came across a interview that led me to checking out this book. Grateful I did. My father was in prison for most of my life and the family that raised me told me how I was going to end up in prison just like him. When I was finally free when I turned 18 I self medicated but at the time I thought I was just having fun. It's taken me years to get to a good place and even though I am now, I need reminders like this to stay on course. I was surprised how much I related to him. I would recommend this book regardless of race or religion.

Playing The Background To Perfection

I coincidentally received my free Audible credit and purchased this powerful literature the same day Americans - but more specifically- “African”-Americans made the historical push for president elect Joe Biden and the first VP of color in American history, who is not only female, but a product of successful immigrant parents of Jamaican and Indian American backgrounds. As a black father of Nigerian immigrants who been blessed with a 5 month old daughter, today was special- but what I love that Lecrae does for me in this book is remind me, we ( most blacks Christians ) love people because we understand the Bible and love God. However, the experience of blacks in America, and in my case blacks that follow Jesus, is so much more complicated. Yet, at every turn we stay relentless, we forgive, and we find a way to make rhythm from our blues. Lecrae I love us, and I thank and love you King, phenomenal depiction of your lens. Hopefully it’s a best-seller when it’s all said and done.

Lecrae does it again

I. NEEDED. THIS. BOOK. It was like healing balm to my little Jesus loving, Negro soul. So much I could relate to from my own journey and so much confirmation in the way God is leading me to true and deep healing.
Lecrae gets a lot of judgment and criticism over his transparency, and yet this is the most beautiful and powerful part of the way he impacts the world. A must listen for yourself and the perfect gift for a soul burned out on religion and in desperate need of restoration.
