As time passes, Huxley grapples with more than hunger and isolation. Haunted by visions of the life he left behind—of Sassa struggling alone, of a daughter he’s never met—he’s forced to confront the man he became and the damage he caused. Meanwhile, the island holds darker secrets: a derelict warplane, a hidden cave, and tortured memories regained.

If rescue comes, will Huxley be able to return to a world that moved on without him, to a wife who may never forgive him, and to a child who doesn’t know his face? But the island changed him in ways he never expected—and perhaps it’s not too late to become the man he should have been all along.
