Fascinating Story & Listen🎧Absolutely Incredible!

This second book of Meg Anne and K. Loraine’s “The Mate Games: Death” is just as amazing and exciting as the first book, “Haunting Beauty”, a not to be missed story. Dahlia Moore’s stay at the Blackwood Asylum continues to get more interesting as her story goes on. She mated with Tor in the first book, but he went into beast mode and is being held in protective custody, which is a protection for everyone else at Blackwood. With him locked up, someone else needs to look after Dahlia and there is no shortage of volunteers, but it is Malakai “Kai”, the dragon shifter that comes front and center. He, too, is a chosen mate for Dahlia and steps into the role with no resistance. We are learning more about all the characters, including the mysterious Cain Alexander, and the pieces of the puzzle are all coming together. There is never a dull moment in this book, the story is incredible and the writing, plot and world building are absolutely fantastic, as are the character growth and development. And that ending leaves us wanting more, actually needing more, and I can’t wait to find out what happens next at Blackwood and the amazing world they created because something is definitely brewing. Their performance is a treat for the ears and you could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they work their magic at the mic. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.

I think I haven’t laughed so hard from a book before. Captain Hook is thee funniest character ever. They all are funny and just so likable. I love the FMC and her spirit!

Loving the series!

I am definitely loving this series so far! This book had a couple plot twists that I didn't see coming, but that were awesome! I can't wait for the next book!! The narrators continue to do an amazing job and I'm glued to listening!! Now to start the next book!!

I recommend but...

The first two mate games were better at introducing characters in my opinion. Still love this set, but haven't finished it yet.
The one thing that is driving me crazy is that Cain is allegedly trying so hard to figure out who he is, but when he comes across people from his past who obviously know him, he makes no effort to get information from them? Like Lillith says she's known him for hundreds of years and they are old friends, and he does no follow up on that at all... seems like it just needs to be this way for the plot point, so we are pretending it makes sense.

Plot, spice, and a surprising new character voice

Narrated by Stella Hunter, Samantha Brentmoor, Jason Clarke, John Hartley, J.F. Harding, and James Joseph with a special appearance from another beloved narrator. Stella and Samantha are queens when it comes to their performances, and I'm loving the range of accents we get from both of them; however, I think Jason Clarke steals the show here with a his introduction of a new accent. Trust me, you'll know when you hear it.

I'm really enjoying how the story is unfolding and what we're learning about the characters. There are a couple plot twists/new information that comes into play, that I'm curious to see how it plays out because it contradicts information we already have. There are some really funny pop cultural references in the book that will have you chuckling, and the appearance of secondary and tertiary characters we've met in other books in this universe (not just the Mate Games books). Meg and Kim should be praised for keeping it all straight. While I'm enjoying the story, I'm came across a couple other continuity issues (or at least appear to be) in addition to the ones I found in Haunting Beauty. I think I need to go back and do a little research via eyeball read where I can search keywords.

Audiobook Review - Full cast, duet narration, featuring Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, John Hartley, JF Harding, James Joseph and Samantha Brentmoor.

I absolutely love this series so much! The plot is rife with suspense and the dynamic between these characters is explosive and so much fun to listen to. There were so many times I literally caught myself laughing out loud. There was great progress made in each different relationship and in the storyline as well. The mystery/suspense aspect of the story is the key though. I am one hundred percent hooked on this story and cannot wait to continue this series.

The narration is nothing short of phenomenal. Each narrator performs their role with so much passion that you can feel it through the headphones. Every one of these male characters are unique with far different personalities and accents and their prospective narrators definitely got the memo when it comes to bringing them to life through their performances. I had absolutely no issue is discerning which character was which and it eliminated some of the issues I have when listening to other books in dual or solo narration. Stella Hunter did so well with Dahlia's character and the cameos from Samantha Brentmoor were such a fun addition to the book.

Amazing series!

I am seriously loving this series!
I do wish that Dahlia showed more genuine yearning towards Tor and missing him. For it being a mate bond between them it unfortunately comes off like the men truly love her, and she likes them but doesn’t take it all very seriously 99% of the time. I love comic relief but Dahlia deflects with humor all the time and it diminishes some of the romance.

Nevertheless, this series is wonderful and the narrators are top tier!
