Tired of the current job? Love dogs? Do you want to turn a passion for pooches into a happy living, working from home?

Four years ago, together with my sister, Mitch, we started our own home boarding, home day care, and dog walking business. Surprisingly, it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. Just when we thought we’d mastered it, the licensing regulations changed, the local authority became the licensing inspector, and forms, policies, check lists, documentation, and evidencing every last minutiae of detail became the new norm. Fast-forward a couple of years, and we have a five-star rated business that is invariably full and with a waiting list of potential customers. So what did we learn on that journey? What do you need to know to start and grow your own dog business, whether home boarding, day care, and/or dog walking?

From my hands-on experience and that gleaned from helping others, I put fingers to the keyboard to share the salient points an aspiring dog business owner needs to nail on a journey to doggy bliss.
