Are you tired of being “in recovery” but not fully free? Of trying to recover “perfectly” only to feel like a failure every time? Of believing the eating disorder is just something you’ll have to “manage” forever?

In How to Get Out of Quasi Recovery, Livia Sara challenges the traditional recovery narrative and offers a radical new perspective: What if recovery itself is holding you back? Through profound insights and raw honesty, she reveals how the concept of “recovery” can keep you stuck in that frustrating middle ground between your eating disorder and true freedom.

Breaking free from quasi recovery isn’t about doing recovery “right” – it's about claiming the permission to create your own path and become the artist of your life. With chapters exploring identity, fear, conformity, and being “good enough,” Livia guides you to transform your relationship not just with food and your body, but with your entire existence.

For anyone feeling stuck in quasi recovery, this book offers hope, understanding, and most importantly, a way forward. It’s time to stop “trying” to recover and start discovering who you truly are.

How to Get Out of Quasi Recovery is the first "ED recovery book" that gives me hope that I can find freedom. I've been following Livia for years on IG and listen to her podcast, and have read all her books, which are all amazing! She has such a succinct yet powerful and beautiful way of writing, almost like some of the famous existential writers that are able to put the incomprehensible and abstract into simple words...and that's exactly what Livia has done with this book. So many of the existential/philosophical roots of eating disorders that no one talks about, Livia doesn't only shed light on them, she helps you use your own deep way of thinking to write your own freedom story. The idea of replacing "recovery" with "discovery" is so helpful because I can now stop feeling like I need to get recovery "right" and I can now trust that I can create my own path. Thank you Livia for your dedication to helping autistic people like me break free <3 I can't wait to dive into the workbook too!

Finally! A philosophical approach to ED recovery
