Refreshing view of why and how to date!

Sam’s approach to dating is applicable to all of life- be real and honest while being interested in the big life stories of others. I found his approach very freeing and helpful, less formulaic than most dating books. He breaks the mold that dating and finding the one is all about me and the life I want to craft. I had been finding the cultural mindset sickening of: “this person is the right one because they make me feel or add this good thing to my life or understand me so well”. Sam explains so well why this mindset focused on me doesn’t work. Instead he inspires a different goal of seeing other people as just as important as myself- which makes dating a celebration rather than a game.

Choosing to be happy not right

The simplicity and complexity of this book is very thought proving. It is simple because many of the action items mentioned in the book are not hard to implement in our daily lives. But the complexity comes in transforming the tendency to be right and choosing to change and improve how we view others and how we can be happy by being authentic and seeing others for who they truly are.
