Nell Mead takes what we all know about our health and puts it into a relatable framework -- even for us Americans! Nell says our health, wellness, and resiliency to injury centers around our sleep, our hydration, our stress management, and our nutrition. I've been going around saying to my spouse, "Nell Mead says to ..." so much that he looked forward to me finishing the book!

One of the notable things about Nell Mead, as exhibited throughout the book, is her interest in her patients as an entire person -- she is not treating just symptoms but also underlying causes, including the mental health of patients. I was particularly pleased that she acknowledged that worrying about one's health (a kind of stress) can exacerbate health issues more than the health issue itself. It's been my experience that most people in the healthcare industry where I live cannot wrap their heads around that.

I did find it a bit awkward at first using the audiobook format, because Nell has readers go through checklists and quizzes. So I strongly recommend downloading the provided PDF that is available in the Audible library when you purchase this title. Look for the "View PDF" gray button at the right edge of the library entry. Then you'll want to click the URL in the PDF document and go to the book's website for all of the quizzes, etc.
