Alien beings bent on our destruction have seeded the world with horrible machines capable of transforming our planet into a hellhole where only they can live.

Our only hope is to solve the puzzle of a four-dimensional maze, an alien thing that is part building, part machine, and part psychological torture chamber. A few brave men and women - and one fearless dog - dare to enter the maze. What they find there will change their lives forever, as the alien machinery creates terrifying worlds based on their worst nightmares.

Im a huge Brian Lumley fan, and I enjoyed both HOD books very much.
However, and as much as I hate to say this about a narrator who spends so much time and energy bringing these great stories to fans ears, but listening was down right painful.
I only wish Joshua Saxon (who reads other Lumley works MASTERFULLY) was commissioned to read these two Lumley novels.

I stuck with it because Im a true fan of the author...but like i said...i felt like i was also trapped in my own nightmare world, within THE HOUSE of DOORS.

Very good sequel to 1st book. Poor narration.

I love Brian Lumley! It’s a rare occurrence that I find myself wanting when reading his books. This wasn’t bad but it did leave me wanting something.

IT might be as simple as he wasn’t writing about the Cthulhu worlds, which isn’t fair but that’s what I think

It could have been better.
