Sappy wish fulfillment
This was not the advertised “steamy” holiday novella I was looking for. No fun or feistiness, just a lightspeed, mutual confession as the H/h get stuck in a room together. It’s like this was written by a teenager dreaming about the perfect man and all his confessions of adoration:
- He finds her smart, beautiful, and intimidating
- “things happen when they’re meant to”
- “I’m happy to just be here with you”
- “we can get to know each other,” he says, before he ignores that to get it on, then it’s “I’ll give you the kind of pleasure you deserve” …in the office … but hey, it’s okay because although he’s the boss, he’ll make things right by announcing his love.
The duet narration was pointless, two F-bombs unnecessary, and two nooky scenes were abrupt and unearned. Going to re-listen to my favorite holiday rom-com trio of novellas: The Reindeer Falls Collection or The Office Party by Whitney G
