Horse realizes he and his deputies must find a killer who is on foot in the vast, unpopulated area where the Mojave and Colorado deserts meet. During the hunt, they encounter a mysterious and self-sufficient Native American who becomes an important part of the pursuit.

Enjoyed the magical desert context. Historical context was helpful and interesting. Just desserts in the desert!

Gary J George is insightful and a joy to read. He has a love place that is reflected in his description of the land and the people who live there.

I Am now familiar with the characters and enjoy them and story.

Like characters, their integrity, simplicity of their lives, their friendships and respect for ech other.

Short but sweet

A short investigation story that kept my interest but I am not a fan of these AI readers.

I love the knowledge and description of the desert.

I enjoyed all of the characters and the way the author developed their personalities. The plot was always moving and intriguing.
