Resumen del Editor

A noise wakes a sleeping husband and wife.

Two intruders.

With a gun to their heads, the married couple has to complete a series of tasks by hurting each other.

A sadistic game designed to test the idea of "love" and "being in love".

Would you rather physically torture the one you love?

Or would you rather allow your lover to physically torture you?

Warning: This book involves multiple scenes of torture. This is a violent story.

Sometimes the bad guys aren’t always THE bad guys

I received a copy of a Home Invasion audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the narrator. Super petty, I know, but when listening to a book of a serious nature, a man portraying a woman’s voice is comical to me. It makes it hard for me to find the serious subject matter…serious. Same goes for the other way around.

Imagine you and your spouse are getting ready for bed. Kids are in bed, it’s a pretty run of the mill evening. Then you hear voices and a gun shot - from inside your home. The events that follow are nothing short of crazy and I’m still cringing thinking about some of the torture that took place. If you enjoy extreme horror and gore in excruciating detail, which is my personal fave, I highly recommend.

I really loved the story and can’t wait to read more of Sea’s books!

Stella The Cry Baby

SPOILERS
First off, AMAZING STORY!
I'm a married woman, and if I found out my husband cheated on me, I would put on my big girl panties and leave him with my dignity intact (however....his bank account wouldn't be intact when I got done) I wouldn't wallow in my self pity going "poor me look at me this poor inconent victim" I would never stand for cheating, but it happens every single day to millions of married people. what is so special about Stella that makes her think she is worthy of enacting this type of revenge? Does she think her pain is more valid then all the other spouses in the world that have been in her shoes? I cheered when her head got blown off (I had already figured out it was her by that point). Other than my hate for Stella....this was a 5 Star book, but JB always impressed me!

Wasn't What I Expected

I received a free audiobook code in exchange for an honest review.

I wouldn't say I've read or listened to many horror/gruesome combo stories. Yet, I wasn't grossed out by anything in this story. I didn't feel there was enough detail to really get that grossness across, at least to me. The only positive was the twist at the end. That was an interesting surprise.

Moving on, the narrator read from one sentence to the next with barely a pause. Take a breath, man! With all the back and forth between the characters' talking, it was sometimes hard to tell who was saying what because the narrator didn’t take any breaths. There were also too many times when a character spoke softly or in pain, yelled, showed emotion, etc. and the narrator just talked normally.

Questions/Comments:

They used surgical scissors to remove a finger? Are you sure about that? Surgical scissors are for soft tissues. And Dillion didn’t pass out with how long it took Stella to slowly cut off his finger?

The reader wasn’t supposed to feel bad for Stella, right? There were too many times when I wanted to jump into the story to torture her. For example, Stella was wondering why L and J liked her husband more than her, seriously? Stella thought he deserved having parts of himself cut off just because he cheated? Or when Stella suspected Dylan had cheated. Yet she didn’t call him out on it at the time and was now all eager to ruin his penis and balls. Stella was just too much.

Why would they have used pruning shears, which have thick blades, to remove Dillion’s nipple and not the surgical scissors? When in reality either only the tip would be cut off or more than just the nipple.

The fact Dillion didn’t want to hurt Stella at all after what she’d done… I didn’t get that at all.

The news report at the end stated that the scene in the house was so bad that officers had never seen anything like it and were vomiting. So no one had seen a decapitated corpse or dead dog?
